A secret poll carried out among some 450 political appointees and staff including security personnel at Jubilee House between February and April showed that if a ballot box was put at the seat of the government, Alan Kyerematen would win, followed closely by Kennedy Agyepong and with Dr Mahamadu Bawumia coming third position.
Out of the 450 participants spoken to over this period,212 preferred Alan Kyerematen,151 preferred Kennedy Agyepong and 87 preferred Dr Bawumia.
The most surprising thing was some staff in Dr Bawumia’s office voted for Kennedy Agyepong and cited reasons like his generosity to party members and accessibility.
The reasons for support for Alan included his length of service in the party, his vision to pay party executives and his redemption of pledges to the party.
Dr Bawumia’s low figures were a huge surprise since Jubilee House was expected to be his stronghold.
Some reasons given by those who did not wish to vote for him at Jubilee House were that in the last 6 years, his office never gave anything to any department during Christmas and Ramadan and that he was personally stingy
