In a secret attempt to force NDC Branch executives in Ellembele constituency in the Western region to throw their support to declare the incumbent Member of Parliament, Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah unopposed is in a sorry situation as the plans failed to outsmart one of the aspirants.
The parliamentary aspirant’s hopeful, Dr. Clement Clinton Blay has therefore urged the branch executives to desist from endorsing the incumbent MP ahead of the parliamentary primaries.
He has also urged them to condemn and expose those faceless, selfish and tyrant individuals pursuing such political evil agenda.
Clement Clinton Blay statement with the media on Wednesday, 15th February, 2023, is in line with endorsement forms circulating viral, in which 9 NDC executives in all the branch levels in the constituency are forced to declare their support behind the incumbent Member of Parliament.
In his reaction, the act of endorsing a candidate is contrary to the party’s code of conduct because, they should not have preference in the poll.
Dr. Clement Clinton Blay told the media that the move by a few constituency executives is a calculated strategy to bend over backwards to declare Emmanuel Armah Kofi Buah ahead of the primaries.
However, he seriously warned that no executive has the power to give an order for the incumbent Member of Parliament in Ellembele to go unopposed or whatever in the upcoming primaries.
According to him, while all qualified party faithful had the constitutional right to contest, consensus building and compromises to rally around a winnable candidate better served the larger interest of the party.
Adding that the process governing the selection of Parliamentary candidates is backed by the party’s constitution which makes it impossible for an individual to decide for the entire party in Ellembele district.
Dr. C. Blay alleged that some of the Constituency executives in Ellembele NDC party are threatening the Branch executives in a quest to put fear on them ahead of the Parliamentary primaries.
According to the parliamentary aspirant’s hopeful, he has received informations from his agents and informants within the constituency executives that any branch executive member who will ignore to ascent his/her signature on the endorsement forms will be sidelined if Emmanuel Armah Buah wins the primaries.
He told journalists that, the branch executives have also been threatened of evicting their names from the party album, denying them job opportunities and other equal juicy benefits due them.
He has however, encouraged the delegates and all the branch executives in Ellembele constituency not to succumb themselves to any obnoxious intimidation, threats and other attacks but to remain vigilant and resolute to elect competency during the primaries.
