The Ashanti Regional branch chairman of the Newspapers Vendors Association of Npp, Mr Bismark Ayensu has renewed his call on President Nana Akuffo Addo to award him the country’s toll booth contract to enable him generate funds to help government to build the economy, reports King Amoah Content Writer of Opera News.
According to him since 2022 he has through the media appealed to Nana Akuffo Addo for several occasions to entrust the toll booth collections into his care but no response hardly comes to his notice.
The vendor who was speaking to the Opera News Content Writer, King Amoah in an interview in Kumasi said the situation tend to create the impression that he cannot deliver when the toll booths contract is transferred to him just because he is an ordinary newspaper vendor.
Bismark Ayensu hinted that he wished to assure the President, Nana Akuffo Addo that he would be in position to raise to government chest, an amount of Ghc 1.2 billion annually if the offer is entrusted into his care since he has management capabilities to attract the money.
The Npp sympathizer expressed his worry that the president has put many party faithful into positions of trust with the anticipations that such people would perform to give honor and credit to the president, they allegedly ended up to disgrace the government.
The public he said then push the mistakes of the officials on the president who stands innocent and moreover a single entity who cannot supervise all his appointees at a go.
Chairman Ayensu related that it is against this background that hence he intends to advise President Nana Akuffo to make appointments based on qualities and the one who can deliver but not degrees or how long the person has stayed in the foreign countries.
I am determined to take over the country’s toll booths collections and mobilize revenue to help government to develop the country, Ayensu underscored.
Ayensu said he is ready to meet the President personally at any moment from now at the Jubilee House and present his full agenda on how he would manage to make the deal.
