This article aims to critically evaluate his claim by examining his political career, leadership style, and actual contributions to the development of Ghana. Through a thorough analysis of his political record and public statements, an assessment was made of the merits of his argument, and conclusions were drawn as to whether he deserves a national award or not.

Political figures and public servants often make claims of deserving recognition for their contributions to the development of the country. K.T Hammond has been a Member of Parliament since 2001, representing the Adansi Asokwa constituency. During his tenure, he has held various positions in government, including Deputy Minister of Energy, Deputy Minister of Justice, and Deputy Minister of Transport. Leadership Style:
Leadership style is a significant factor in assessing an individual’s contributions to national development. K.T Hammond’s leadership style is one that is often described as authoritarian and confrontational. A deserving recipient of a national award must have a more comprehensive approach to development that includes collaboration and consensus-building, poverty reduction, job creation, and promotion of education.
